Josephine Top

From the Summer 06 Interweave Knits, Josephine Top.
Begun 6/24, finished 7/15.
Yarn: Spaced dyed rayon purchased at the Weavers' Fair, almost 4 skeins.
Needles - 5
Modifications: MANY!, but not all on purpose. I knew I didn't want to have to wear a tank underneath, so I made the solid top much longer before starting the v-neck. I started it at the same point as the arms, and I like the depth. Any lower and I would have to wear a tank under, and with our hot summers, it just seems silly to have to layer clothing! I forgot to add the decreases on the back, so I mimicked the mistake on the front. I didn't add the bottom edging, and I used a ribbon instead of the knit tie. I'm sure there are many more mods, but that's what I remember. It fits well. If I were to do it again, I'd make the cap sleeves a bit longer with a few more rows, but it's fine. I'm not thrilled with how the neck line rolls, but I can live with it. The rayon wouldn't really block, so I'm not being bothered with that.

And yes, I need a new model!

Our day in pictures

These first two pictures are for Dad! We went out for pizza tonight (first Friday of payday), and decided to stop at Superior Dairy on the way home. At first, it was only Rachel who wanted ice cream, but Chris and Noah joined in. Tasty!

The kittens are doing better, but it's impossible to get a good picture of them. This is Shadow, the one who was sick. He's definitely better now!

And here is Fidget. Their new favorite game is to play in bathroom. One hides behind the open door, and they attack each other's feet underneath it. Silly animals!

And finally, here's Noah before band camp this morning. Yes, it was crazy hair day, so he meant to do this. He found new sympathy for his sister when she has ponytails put in.

Just trying this out!

Here's a picture from this afternoon. It was a gorgeous day, and the pear tree is just about to burst into bloom.

I don't know what I'll do with this whole blog thing. I can see it taking too much time, an I'm so bad lately with keeping in touch via email, as well as spending too much time reading other blogs. We'll see. At least for know, there is something here.
